6 Tasty Poolside Snacks
Fresh Cut Fruit is the ideal summer treat. It offers a bit of sweet while providing a few of the vitamins needed for a healthy diet. Choice several types like melons, grapes and strawberries to ensure that you have a little something to please everyone.
Crackers and cheese are great when looking for something that is super quick and filling. As a mom of seven, pool time often results in little hungry, monsters. I have found one of the best ways to curb their appetite till the next meal is by offering a few pieces of cheese and wheat crackers.
Vegetable platters are a wonderful choice. Keep in mind though while the veggies themselves can handle the warmer weather, dips should always be kept cold.
El Monterey Taquitos are perfect if you have access to an oven. These quick treats offer a delicious mix of chicken or beef and cheese with the crunch that my family adores. Serve them with fresh guacamole and pico de gallo for added flare.
Trail Mix is a quick option. You can buy this prepackaged or make your own using a basic recipe contains peanuts, raisins and chocolate candies. For more filling mix add dried fruit such as cranberries, sunflower seeds and pretzels.
Chips and Salsa is the traditional crowd pleaser. I have yet to met a person who doesn’t like the basic tortilla chip. Now salsa comes in many styles, we general keep a mild and medium since the kids don’t care for spicy as much as my husband and I do.
