Have you heard? Hasbro has an all-new Marvel Super Hero Mashers action figure line featuring your favorite MARVEL Super Heroes and Villains. Each figure comes complete with interchangeable parts and accessories, so kids can make their very own hero creations. Sounds cool, right?
Our Low is a creator at heart and a superhero fanatic. He can take a proper building block structure and make it something completely odd and wonderfully unique in a matter of minutes. So much so that it is very possible that I have a budding architect on my hands. So, of course, I got excited by the possibilities of new playtime experiences involving the Marvel Super Hero Mashers.
While on the outside the Mashers appear to be your everyday superhero figurine, they are truly so much more. Everything from their feet to their heads pop apart and are perfectly connectable to another hero set. In fact even the hands will fit in the leg slots. Yes, as you can imagine we have already seen some interestingly, gruesome creatures during our week of fun. Can’t you just imagine Thor with a Spiderman hand in place of his head. I know what you are thinking, they are not meant for that. But come on, who am I to tell my happy {and normal} child no? Don’t worry, he thinks it is funny and always puts them back in the correct spots before we store them away.
A few things every parent should know:
Marvel Super Hero Mashers smallest part seems to be the head. Yes, it is small enough that swallowing could occur. However the age range is 4+ and at that age, our children really should be practicing the do not place in your mouth rule. So if your child is not there just yet, either do not buy or make sure you are with them at all times when playing with these.
The Mashers line is very sturdy. They made it through the step on test well without damage. Before you are asking, this test is never intentional; however maybe I should make it. All this means is at one time {or several} when my boys failed to pickup before bedtime, mom stepped on a few Mashers parts. They survived to live another day and so did I.
As you have noticed from my chat, the Marvel Super Hero Mashers are a building style toy meaning components that come apart. It is excellent practice to start right off from the first play moment ensuring that the figurines and all their pieces get put away properly. While they do interchange, losing pieces is always a possibility with this style toy. Tears can happen when little guys like mine go looking for items like Thor’s cape and it is missing. So as a suggestion, get a small plastic storage container and keep everything together when playtime is over.
Marvel Super Hero Mashers can be hard to find in some areas. When we first received our box, my son feel immediately in love with them. So naturally, we wanted to extend his collection. My approval of the quality probably also had something to do with it. So we went shopping and as of two weeks ago none of my local stores had them on the shelves. However upon my latest visit to Wal-Mart {yesterday}, I did see a small selection. Happy moment for us!
Hasbro Mashers are one of those toys that I expect to be very popular because they are super cool, sturdy, inspire creativity and well superhero themed. With more than 20 unique Marvel Super Hero Mashers characters planned for 2014, there are tons of silly ways to mash them all. So if I were you {and me}, I would snag a few before they are sold out. You can also find a few of the styles online at Amazon.com as well.
One lucky winner will receive a Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers Battle Upgrade Action Figure Assortment.
