HABA for the holidays! Habaland Horse and Cart & Doll Clara Review

The word HABA means quality made toys that we can trust in our home. We know that when we purchase or request one of HABA’s creations, we are getting a product that will last for years to come. In fact we count on that quality in our home as we hope that things such as these will be passed down from child to child and even then maybe to a grandchild one day.

We recently added the Habaland Horse and Cart & Doll Clara to our HABA collection. The selection of these came from my 18 month old son’s need to take things apart and rolls things around the floor as well as my youngest daughter’s fond love of plush dolls that she can cuddle with.

Habaland Horse and Cart • $35

Chop, chop, at a gallop! The little horse pulls the cart containing a brightly colored stacking game. The little ones can change the position of the rods as they fancy. Made of: Beechwood. Recommended for ages 1+.

Doll Clara, 13.5” • $35

When it comes going out, Clara’s a pink polka-dot and stripes kind of girl. But when it’s about her beautiful, full-head of red hair, nothing except her stylish, pink hairband will do! Includes hair band. Soft body doll with dangly colored legs. Recommended for ages 1½ +.

What the momma thinks………

The first thing I noticed about the Habaland Horse and Cart was the sturdy nature of the wooden structure. You can twist, bend and even drop without worry of damage. Then I couldn’t resist but falling in love with the simple yet adorable face.

The Habaland Horse and Cart comes with two main structure pieces that connect to each other with a magnetic end. This allows them to be pulled apart and placed back together with ease even for my young toddler. Each main structure has four wooden wheels that allow for rolling both front and back ways.

Each of the colored, wooden pegs are a different size as well as the height of the inner holes on the second structure. I found that this made Elliot more interested in taking them in and out and changing them around that with previous toys of this type.

The Habaland Horse and Cart is currently one of only four toys that my son reaches for on a daily basis. I actually keep this piece in my livingroom on a bookcase. It has such a nice, classic design that it flows well with our books and movies. You would never know that it was placed there because I worry about not being able to locate it the next day. Elliot would be so mad at me if I did.

The Doll Clara was selected for the purpose of allowing my daughter a soft doll that she could take to bed comfortably; plus still enjoy playing with it during the day. When I first opened the box, she was not as excited as I had hoped thinking it was a baby toy and she of course is a big girl now. After I started testing it out and taking a few photos, she came around and asked if she could have Clara still. Well of course you can, I replied.

Doll Clara has the most amazing hair I could have hoped for. Since the hair is created from chenille, there is no worry of frizz or falling out. The color is so bright and happy. The bounce and fullness still remains long after playtime has come to an end. This alone gains my approval for purchase. Then once you add the super soft body, cute face and well made clothes, Doll Clara is a holiday must have.

Natalie spent a good week carrying Doll Clara everywhere she went. Clara went from bed to backpack and even to grandma’s a time or two. While the new has worn off and Clara is not played with as often; she is still Natalie’s choice for bedtime friend.
