LorettaRose, LLC, a family-owned company, was established to produce my Sibling® dolls, and to advocate for lifelong services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The company recognizes that there are very few employment options available to teens and adults with special needs. To help bridge this gap, LorettaRose, LLC offers these individuals, through the My Sibling/My Pal Work Experience Program™, an opportunity to participate in the assembly and packaging of its products (see below).
My Sibling® dolls and their associated booklets will help children understand others who learn and grow differently than they do. Please read more about our stories that depict everyday situations in the lives of children who have siblings with disabilities.
The My Sibling/My Pal Work Experience Program™ provides work opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities: dressing, accessorizing, packaging, labeling of dolls; packaging, labeling and assembly of our other products, such as autism awareness items. We have developed relationships with public and private schools and adult programs who want real job experiences for their students and adult workers.
My Pal the Patriot is a buddy for children who know someone who is serving or has served our country, and he can be especially comforting if they have a loved one in the armed services who is away on active duty. In the My Pal the Patriot booklet children can write their own story about their favorite patriot, which gives them a chance to put their feelings down in words. There are two pages with lyrics to patriotic songs, such as “The Star Spangled Banner.” My Pal 18″ boy dolls are dressed and accessorized by teens and adults with disabilities who participate in the My Sibling/My Pal Work Experience Program™.
What the Momma Thinks…..
My two daughters love larger dolls like the 18″ My Pal dolls collection, that they can change outfits, have tea parties and even carry along with them everywhere they go. We added the My Pal Patriot just at the right time in their lives as they were questioning why our family members were off fighting a war. Not only was this doll a beauty, she made it possible to explain in terms even a young child could understand.
The My Pal doll was excellent quality with a strong poseable body. Hair is completed rooted and able to be brushed through with a wide tip comb or bush with ease. This is one of my daughters favorite activities with their dolls; so it is very important to me that the doll’s hair is well inserted so that it does not pull out. She has eyes that will open and close as she is laid back and set back upright. This is a nice feature for little girls who like to take their dollie night-night.
Though most of all I like that My Pal adds new additions often. This makes collecting them a lot of fun. We are even adding a My Pal for Christmas boy doll this holiday season. Finally our son will get a doll of his own to play along with his sisters. So excited to see him open it on Christmas morning.
