Gone are the days of having to get out of bed because the house is too hot or cold. No longer do you have to come home after being away a few days to find your house burning up or freezing cold because mother nature decided to throw you a curve-ball with drastic weather changes. With the Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat those little problems are taken care of in just a few clicks from your smartphone.

I have had the pleasure of using the Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat for the last 3 weeks and can say that it would be hard to go back to using a traditional thermostat. Convenience is an amazing bonus in our large family and this product hit the nail on the head with home temp control.
Installation was much easier than I had thought possible. Honestly I had read previous reviews and was a tad afraid that my older home would be an issue. Lucky for me, I soared through the process without fail. I was able to remove my old thermostat and have the new one up and running in just a few minutes. I removed the cover from my old thermostat and took a picture with my phone of the wire colors and which terminals they were connected too; then unwired the 5 wires and removed the old base. I installed the new base and wired up the new thermostat but matching the wire colors to the connections on the new thermostat. I then plugged the display on to the base and I was up and running. After going through the initial setup and connecting to my Wifi network at home I was done with the hard part. Now onto the fun of having a smart home.
Using an Android powered phone I downloaded the Honeywell App, Total Connect Comfort, from the Play Store. I was able to log in using the account I set up at www.mytotalconnectcomfort.com. That allowed me to be able to have full access to my thermostat from my cellphone.
The main screen shows current temperature and humidity in the house as well as outside conditions. I can see and change current set point from the main screen as well. You can see the various functions on the bottom of the screenshot below. Moving from one to the other is as simple as a press of your finger.
The System and Fan screens gives you quick and easy access switch between heating and cool as well as controlling the fan. Still digging the complete control I have over the thermostat from my mobile device. This is especially useful for those of you whom travel as much or more than my family does. Within a few hours the temps in Iowa can go from below freezing to in the 70s. While it is still to early to tell, I am guessing that by being able to change the functions even from away from home will eventually help save a little money in the electric department.
The Schedule screen makes it easy to set your temperature set points based on your schedule. This makes it great to adjust the temperature around when you are home and away. The Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat also supports different set points on individual days.
The thermostat itself provides a great user interface with a responsive touch screen that works flawlessly. With the added ability to change your display themes you can easily customize the thermostat to your personal preference. Another nice feature often overlooked is the “Clean Screen” button. This will deactivate the touch screen for 30 seconds while giving you a count down, giving you time to clean the screen without pressing buttons and changing settings.
Between the great user interface on the thermostat and the app as well, along with the ease of use and beautiful design the Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat is the perfect addition to any home. Not to mention it is lovely to look at!
