A Mom Who Deserves To Be Celebrated

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Pampers at Sam’s Club. The opinions and text are all mine.

Motherhood is the greatest joy and the hardest thing I have experienced thus far in my life. In fact, I have been a mom for 24 years to 7 wonderful children who still find ways to make me smile and worry all at the same time. While I will be a mom till my last breath here on earth, nothing compares to the moment I became a grandmother and watched my daughter become the mom I knew she would be one day.

Being a mom cannot be defined by your age, where you are from or even who brought you into this world. You decided how the journey will go and are responsible for not only your life but also for the ones you create. It is a difficult journey. One that will have you in tears at times for both the good moments and the bad. An adventure that will remind you that playing in the mud and eating from the dog dish didn’t harm you growing up and neither will it for them.

I absolutely was not ready to be called grandma when my daughter informed me was having a baby. At twenty, I was worried and downright terrified that this would change her life. That she was not ready and would miss out on so much she still have yet to do. She was barely an adult, still my baby by birthright. How would she be okay?

I will tell you know that all of my worries were for not. This young woman blossomed into one of the most responsible, loving moms I have ever known. It is hard to believe for all of my faults that this wonderful person came from me.

She somehow managed to work till right up to my granddaughter’s arrival and went back with shocking speed thereafter. Looking back now I know that it was the smart thing for her and her family though at the time I thought she was bonkers for not being home for longer. They thrived with the help of family and friends. She was surrounded by those that supported her, lifted her up and made her journey a little lighter along the way.

My beautiful daughter has made motherhood an art. They travel, they work, they teach the right way to live and love at the same time and she finds a balance we all so strive for. I don’t ever remember being this together, even now after 24 years. I am so proud to call both of these little ladies mine and this mom deserves to be celebrated every day and to help do just that, moms who shop at Sam’s Club can celebrate with nearly a full month of instant savings on two mom staples – diapers and wipes from Pampers.
