There’s nothing like waking up on Thanksgiving Day, making some hot chocolate, and cozying up to the TV with your family for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is a tradition for my family since the earliest of my childhood memories. The sounds and scenes of the parade would be the background to every Christmas breakfast and present opening moment that I can remember.
We now share this tradition with our own children. Starting at 9 a.m. ET our TV and attention is glued to the opening of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with anticipation of seeing the newest floats, ones we remember from years past and the arrival of Santa. This is the first peek we have of the big guy since the previous holiday and it always sets the mood for the holidays days to come.
This year’s new opening will feature an all-star ensemble cast of celebrities from pop culture, stage and TV all singing and dancing together in an epic performance of Dancin’ in The Street! Also, as part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade first hour of festivities Gwen Stefani will perform White Christmas at the Bryant Park ice rink surrounded by fans and skaters. This is a concert moment, you don’t want to miss.
Join us in Waking up with Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, 11/23 at 9am eastern / 8am central! Gather around with your loved ones and help celebrate the magic of the holiday season.
