Best laptop under $500, Sony Vaio E Series

When it comes to the ever-changing world of electronics, we live by the motto, “Get the best, for less!” I am all about jumping on the newest product out there as long as it is well worth its cost. Recently I found myself searching for a new laptop to take along to my stunningly, busy calendar year. I took a lot into consideration: look, feel, weight, size, specs, operating system, customization ability and my tight budget of only $500!

Most of you are thinking, it is impossible to find something that runs just as well as your home computer (or better) in the 500 dollar price range. That kind of thinking is what drives consumers to over pay for products. I am here to tell you that knowledge is key to every large purchase.

The VAIO E Series 15.5″ Laptop is equip with a 2nd gen Intel® Core™ i3-2330M, 4GB RAM, 640GB (5400rpm) HDD which allows the crazy side of me to run things the way I like to, all wide open and at once. In a single publication feature, I can be found to have open: Chrome, Picasa, Word, Notepad and Paint. I know that is a lot but it takes a lot of work to get things looking and sounding the way I want them to. Expression is one of the key features we like to display at motherhooddefined.com.

The E Series Laptop operates with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Of course this is the newest, best and top of the line operating system out there right now for this type of unit. We started using this in beta form a long time ago on our home/work computer and love the ease of the programing and function workability.

The VAIO E Series carries a sleek, modern design. Fairly small and light weight, it is a great size for on-the-go. With a textured, diamond-shaped pattern embossed on the lid and palm rest, this PC is artfully crafted to be pleasing to the eyes and to the touch without leaving any fingerprint smudges. (yes, this is a very cool feature to neat freaks such as myself) Also the isolated keyboard with an integrated number pad has with a pleasant-feeling textured touch pad that is integrated into the palmrest. So you are comfortable when slaving away to get the computer grind work completed. I know that on any given day I am on my pc units 5+ a day and comfort is a key feature.

Other positives are the PMB VAIO Edition which makes managing your photos and home videos as easy as taking them. HDMI output that allows you to see your laptop screen on the big screen with a simple run of a cord. This is great for those of you who run presentations or like to stream videos. The VAIO E Series also comes with a built-in camera and microphone which is great for me to have web chats with my family when I am away.

Overall the Sony VAIO laptop was our choice for best laptop under $500. The glacier white was our choice simply because it looks really clean and feminine.

BUY IT: You can purchase Sony VAIO E Series Laptop from various sites and stores that carry electronics including store.sony.com and Amazon.com (this is where we snagged the best deal at $449.99 free shipping).
