Do you have a book lover on your holiday shopping list? Perhaps you are the one who deserves a vacation away inside the fresh pages of mystery, romance, and more. No matter the receiver the gift of PageHabit will bring a bit of joy right to the mailbox each month. What a wonderful way to continue with a bit of Christmas joy long after the holidays have finished.
PageHabit started out wanting to connect people through good, ol’ snail mail and have since grown to connect people through unique, tangible experiences. Along the way, they noticed that there was an especially large disconnect between authors and their fans online and in real life. From this, they curated a subscription box that could help bridge this gap and deliver an amazing immersive reading experience.
The birth of the Literary Box arrived, but then quickly they learned there is a much larger, and incredibly diverse, book community out there. So, here’s PageHabit, where reading great books is more than a hobby, it’s a habit that allows the reader get swept away each month with a new book and goodies that bring a smile to your face.
Each month a network of authors, tastemakers and critics help pick the best new releases to feature each month. Boxes are available in 11 different genres. From cookbooks to horror, romance to young adult fiction, a gift of PageHabit is perfect for the coming holiday season.
The October PageHabit Romance Box with everything a book junkie needs: new novel, donation towards children’s literacy, author content, magical bookish goods and a community full of passionate book lovers that you can access online!
Upon opening, I found a letter from author Renée Carlino her personal story of how the book came to be as well as a copy of Wish You Were Here complete with a sticky note and special annotations throughout the pages of the novel. Such a special touch that will make any reader swoon with excitement.
While the cover leads me a bit questioning for a romance, after researching I found that this novel was one that made the USA TODAY Bestseller list, Cosmopolitan September 2017 Pick, Goodreads Best Romance of August 2017 and Hello Giggles “17 Books We Can’t Wait to Read in August 2017”! So, yeap, I was very excited to dive in.
Synopsis: “Wish You Were Here” by Renée Carlino
Charlotte has spent her twenties adrift, searching for a spark to jump-start her life and give her a sense of purpose. She’s had as many jobs as she’s had bad relationships, and now she’s feeling especially lost in her less-than-glamorous gig at a pie-and-fry joint in Los Angeles, where the uniforms are bad and the tips are even worse.
Then she collides—literally—with Adam, an intriguing, handsome, and mysterious painter. Their serendipitous meeting on the street turns into a whirlwind one-night stand that has Charlotte feeling enchanted by Adam’s spontaneity and joy for life. There’s promise in both his words and actions, but in the harsh light of morning, Adam’s tune changes, leaving Charlotte to wonder if her notorious bad luck with men is really just her own bad judgment.
Months later, a new relationship with Seth, a charming baseball player, is turning into something more meaningful, but Charlotte’s still having trouble moving past her one enthralling night with Adam. Why? When she searches for answers, she finds the situation with Adam is far more complicated than she ever imagined. Faced with the decision to write a new story with Seth or finish the one started with Adam, Charlotte embarks on a life-altering journey, one that takes her across the world and back again, bringing a lifetime’s worth of pain, joy, and wisdom.
Digging even further inside this goodie box delivered a historical romance short story, The Bridge by Sacchi Green. I love little shorts as they are perfect for when waiting in the car for the kids to get out of school.
Synopsis: Since Regina’s return to England after nursing the soldiers in France, she’s had trouble coping with the loss of a loved one and her distance from a war that needs her. But a free-spirited painter may help her realize she’s exactly where she belongs.
Extra goodies were also included. Everyone loves something extra! One was a very unique and fun cactus pen. Honestly when I first pulled out the unit from the box, I had no clue what it was. Now this crazy looking ink is proudly displayed on my office desk. No more worrying about someone taking it without me seeing. Haha!
PageHabit’s October Romance Box also included a pair of silly book socks. This was by far my very favorite piece aside from the novel included. Who knew I could laugh so loud while my feet did a little feet dance in front of my husband as he scowled at me. After all, I think he believe I enjoy my book time more than the moments spent with him.
Of course, no PageHabit box is complete without a bookmark or few. I adore the smaller ones as they were ideal for keeping up with multiple pages and sections with a magnetic closure. My daughter gladly claimed the fullsize bookmark with glee. I think she might have the same addiction I do: reading!
Each month you will receive newly released novel, short story, bookmark(s) and reader goodies for $29.99 plus $4.99 shipping in the US. While I know this is a little more than just buying the book, I thoroughly enjoyed all the little surprises the romance subscription box provided. Well worth the price tag for sure!
This holiday season give the gift of reading with a PageHabit subscription. You’ll be happy you did!
