What the momma thinks…..
All three of my school age children just love their computer time. They enjoy chatting with their friends, looking at pictures but most of all playing online games. So it is extremely important for me to ensure that the content they are using is not only safe but educational. I get the best of both worlds with TropicMind.com.
The website is colorful, fast, responsive. Really everything to keep a younger child’s attention. There are numerous activities on each island and many islands to select from. You can change your character at the beauty salon, then head to the workshop to show your artistic talents and play educational games like Hungry Crocos and more. Even though we limit their pc time to 1 hour a day, there is plenty of exciting things to do on Tropic Mind to keep them occupied for that time and even longer.
The only thing I noticed is each activity does have some reading in the beginning where it explains the directions. For younger users (ages 6 and under), you the parent will probably need to assist them with this. After they get use to each game and this may take a little bit as there are many, they should remember the rules and be able to play alone.
While there are other players online, the interaction level is low. You can invite people to be your friend, but no personal information is ever shared. They can however message each other but I assume this is popular with most online games. Like with anything, just ask your children to be careful when interacting with strangers online and report any odd activity.
TropicMind.com can be played for free. Paid members get to visit all the islands at Tropic Mind and have access to the full package of current educational content and all the future updates of it. I say play for free along with your children the first time or two and if you see that they are enjoying their time, upgrade. It is $5.95 a month and less if you subscribe longer. In today’s world that is the cost of two sodas and a candy bar. Don’t forget education is the key to your child’s future!
See you there!
