The one snack I simply could not imagine life without, Culver’s Cheese Curds! There is truly something special about this crispy fried deliciousness that just rocks my tastebud socks off.
My first experience with this snackable, bite-sized chunks of white and yellow Cheddar cheese, breaded and deep-fried for a warm, buttery crunch was in my first year as an Iowa native. Something about the buttered buns and freshly cooked hamburgers called the name of my student brain.
My date which later became my loving husband ordered up a large Cheese Curds with a side of my favorite guilty pleasure, ranch dressing. From that moment on, I was hooked and years later find that my teenage daughters have taken the same fond love for the crispy deliciousness.
With all of our summer travels it had been awhile since we took a mom-daughter outing to our local Culver’s. Though after a grueling week of school and work, off we went to indulge in a little Cheese Curd and ice cream “we time”.
Once the buttery smell wafted to our noses, you could almost hear the collective sigh! It had been too long since we let go and just sat down to a tasty treat while we chatted and laughed. I almost forgot how wonderful it is to just enjoy a few moments of joy without the hassle our busy lives bring into our daily lives and are so thankful that these memories will carry-on for years to come.
