Denim is one of the most commonly worn materials all around the world. People love their jeans. But, did you know that you could turn your favorite cute pair of jeans into an extraordinary pair of jeans by embellishing them with a few beads? Embellishing your jeans can be a fun weekend project for you and your friends to do together. To help you get started with your project, we have done a little bit of research about clothing embellishment.
First, choose a pair of jeans to embellish. Usually, darker colored jeans will give you a dressier look when they are adorned. After you have located a pair of jeans that you want to embellish, take out a piece of fabric and trace a design onto your jeans. This way, you have an idea of what you want to add to the jeans, before you start stitching.
When looking the jeans over for places where you can add beads, try to avoid places on the jeans that will receive a lot of wear when the jeans are worn. Back pockets are one of the main places that you should avoid. If you want to embellish the pockets of your jeans, embellish the front pockets.
Use small pieces of leather or suede to secure your knots along the inside of the jeans during beading. This will help keep your beading thread from pulling at the fabric on the jeans, which could cause the beads to come loose after a couple of washes.
