Mom to Bed by 8 is excited to present our Under the Tree Giveaway sponsor, Rockboard Scooter!

I was so excited this last summer when my children were old enough to engage in outdoor activities and sports. While my oldest took to the pool my younger daughter became a bike and scooter maniac. Sadly her scooter bit the dust when a neighbor wasn’t paying attention and backed into it on our driveway. She was so sad for weeks and then I started seeing tweets and a few publishing about this new type of scooter from M.Y. Products called The Rockboard Scooter.

About The Rockboard Scooter

The Rockboard Scooter is actually two scooters in one. The advanced Rockboard technology allows you to shred the pavement in rockboarding mode or quickly transform it into a low-profile kick scooter. The rear spring-enhanced suspension means the smoothest ride even on the most unforgiving pavement. With superior strength and lightning quick dual-mode action adjustment, your new scooter means hours of insane fun. It features reinforced handlebar assembly for safety and an oversized nylon coupler that allows handlebars to be folded for compact storage. The telescope downpipe with height adjustment lock on the scooter lets you adjust the handles to your exact height, and the comfort grip and aluminum alloy brake handle allow for hours of Rockboarding with perfect control on the pavement. The two-position locking joint for dual-mode scooter capability and easy folding lets you take it anywhere, and racing-inspired bearings keep your scooter rolling.

What my friend Mr. Carpet thinks

The Rockboard Scooter was pre-assembled so all I had to do was unfold it, twist a knob to secure the two sides of the handlebars together and it was ready to go. Instructions came on a DVD format and were easy to use and understand when needed.

It has two different settings- one for if you want to treat it like a normal foot-pedaled scooter, and the other is for if you want to use the rocking action to propel you forward. With no instructions in the box it took me a minute to figure out how to change it over to the rocking propelled version.

It was easy for my girls (7, 9 and 12) to get on it and use it for the first time after I got on it first and showed them how it was supposed to work. They absolutely love it. They want to ride it every day. Their friends are jealous and want one too. The only problem I have with it is that I need three of them to keep them from fighting over who gets to ride it and for how long. 🙂 It has an adjustable handlebar that will go up and comfortably fit my height. I am 5’10”. My 7 year old had no trouble adjusting this herself to her height.

One negative that I took note of is that the handle bars are welded on crooked on this particular unit. You can see this in one of the attached pics. My assumption is that this is not supposed to be that way. (Follow-up: Rockboard Scooters offers a wonderful customer service department that got us out a replacement with a week. Now that is a company I would do business with again!)

I absolutely would recommend this scooter to anyone that has the disposable income to purchase it. (since it is on the pricey side) Just expect to invest in a kitchen timer if you have more than one child.

Would I purchase The Rockboard Scooter – Yes! In fact I have snagged one from Target.com for under my tree this year. Like I said before my NatNat needs good, quality scooter to keep her entertained when the snow has disappeared. Plus she requested Rockboard by name on her Santa list this year.

BUY IT: The Rockboard Scooter is available Target instores and online.
