Trunki Shark PaddlePak Fin Review and Giveaway

Hunter is now 2 years old, and he has always been helpful with many things around the house, but just recently, he has begun to carry the bag that I pack for the boys when they go to their caregiver each day.  The bag that I was packing was perfect for my shoulder, but not exactly ideal for a toddler, and ended up often getting dragged behind on the floor, despite his efforts to hold it high.

That’s when I saw the PaddlePak, by Trunki.

Trunki has kids in mind with all of their products:

“We understand that whilst parents buy products, children make friends with them, so everything we create has the functionality that grown-ups value, and the personality that kids adore. We have a team of talented imagineers that are dedicated to making travelling with tots a doddle. They use ingenious design (and a little bit of fairy dust) to create products for every journey, whether it’s a day trip to the zoo, or a round the world trip.”

Some of their other products include adorable “ride on” suitcases, and fun character travel pillows, but what I needed now was a bag for my “big guy” to carry his belongings  to and fro.

As I was browsing through the available choices for the PaddlePak, I had trouble deciding between the adorable clownfish, the frog, the lobster, and the other designs.  That was until I saw the shark.  I knew right away that would be the bag for Hunter.  All summer at the beach he wore his shark t-shirts, and always chose his shark beach towel.  That was the one!

I could hardly take it out of the packaging before Hunter wanted the “SHARK!” (His PaddlePak name is actually “Fin”)

Mommy had no idea there were so many great features to the PaddlePak when we ordered, but I can tell you that Trunki thought of everything.  It is not just an adorable bag, it has function, including:

  • Break away safety buckle
  • Reflective strips
  • Dry zip pocket
  • Trunki Grip for sunglasses
  • Water resistant fabric
  • Hanging loop
  • Accessories loop
  • Roll top closure
  • Padded mesh back
  • Internal dry pocket*
  • External bottle pocket*
    *Shark and whale PaddlePak only

features

While I was getting acquainted with all of the features of the PaddlePak, Hunter just wanted to put it on.  So I packed up the bag with the boys’ things for daycare and let him put it on.  He lit up like a Christmas Tree!

He proudly modeled the pack on the way to the car, and when we went to get INTO the car… did not want to take it off.  We then had to have a conversation about carseat safety and that it would not, in fact, be safe to wear the pack in his carseat.

Ever since the day his PaddlePak arrived, Hunter has wanted to carry his backpack everywhere, even when we have nothing to carry.  Before we leave the house, he proudly professes, “Mommy need my shark!” in his adorable little toddler voice.  He even gets compliments from the older kids at daycare and I think they may be just a little bit jealous of his awesome bag!

packonfrontbackWe can’t wait to use the pack at the beach this summer to take advantage of the water resistant design.  And before we know it… we will be ordering one for our little guy too!
