My youngest daughter whom is now 16, was diagnosed with a growth disorder when she was eleven. Before momma bear finally demanded a specialist, most doctors said she was just experiencing growing pains and would eventually be just fine. However, after four years of multiple, painful visits, I demanded and specialist. One look at x-rays and we were in for a bilateral femoral restoration surgery within weeks after that visit. My child had been through only pain and excessive growth for years. Now at just 16, she is nearly six foot tall and wears a size 11.5 shoe.
