Chillafish Bunzi Balance Bike Review & Giveaway

Our two year old loves to ride his bike outside, but now that the temperature has dropped to 30 degrees, it is not practical to bundle him up just to practice riding his bicycle outdoors, especially since he has yet to master the pedals.  The Bunzi Balance Bike by Chillafish is the perfect indoor solution, not only to appease his riding itch, but to help him work on his balance, step by step.

The Bunzi gradual balance bike from Chillafish is a unique 2-in-1 balance bike for toddlers. To teach balance, start in 3-wheel mode and switch to 2-wheel mode when your child is ready (no tools required!). With a storage trunk in the seat for toddler toys and snacks, the Bunzi is lightweight and perfect for indoor and outdoor riding. Made for ages 1-3 years old, Bunzi comes in 4 colors: blue, red, lime and pink.

As soon as we got home from daycare, and I saw the package arrived, Hunter was asking, “Mommy, what’s this?”  It had been a long day at work and I was exhausted, but I opened the box up to show him and was happy to see that there was NO assembly required on my part!  The LAST thing I felt like doing when I still had to get dinner on the table and give the kids their baths was putting something together.

All we had to do was take the outer box off and it was already assembled in the three-wheeler position and ready to go!  In fact, Hunter couldn’t keep his hands off of it long enough for me to get any more pictures of the bike before he started using it!

The Bunzi bike is sleek and stylish, and extremely lightweight and easy to carry, so our toddler can carry it in and out of each room to ride around without having to ask for mommy or daddy to help him.  There is also a small cubby for storage in the bike seat, so Hunter can hide his fruit snacks, or some of his small cars that he carries with him everywhere.

The Chillafish team’s motto is “We are play innovation!” Hunter began zooming around on his bike as soon as it hit the floor, and started creating an obstacle course for himself to weave in and out of.

He even took it in the other room to show off to his doggies.  (They were highly entertained as you can see!)

Switching from two wheel to three wheel mode and back again is super easy, all you need to do is unscrew the connector under the bike seat, and flip the legs of the bike 180 degrees so that the wheels are together, and align the seat and connector up with the corresponding holes, and VOILA!  Easy as pie!

So far the Bunzi bike by Chillafish has entertained our two year old for hours, and I imagine it will continue to do the trick for a while, even until Nolan is ready to use it himself… which means we may have to purchase another one of these so there is no fighting over the Bunzi in a few months.  Since the Bunzi can be used from ages 1-3, Nolan will be ready for it before we know it.  In fact, today he already started pulling up to stand on things, so it may come more quickly than I am prepared for!

I love the Limited Edition design that is currently featured for the Bunzi, which they call their “Fad” design (Fabulously Artistic Designs), which is done by a featured artist from time to time that Chillafish feels deserves special attention.  This Limited Edition is The Bunny Mish Mash by Tim Van Den Broeck.  In addition, Chillafish has other balance bike options as your child grows, including the Quadie (1-3 years), BMXie (2-5 years) and the Jack and Josie (3-5 years).

You can purchase your BUNZI Balance Bike, as well as other Chillafish here, or visit their website for other participating dealers in your country.
